BL Nanobiomed P.C. is a high tech SME Nanomedicine company that applies nanotechnologies and nanomed-icine strategies to deal with unmet medical needs and to optimize the performance of various implants and biosensors.
It focuses on the development of novel nanotechnologies, manufacturing processes for the develop-ment of innovative drug eluting nanosystems, nanoparticles and nanoplatforms to advance the effectiveness of implants (cardiovascular, orthopedic, lenses, etc) and the implementation of nanoscale techniques & in-vitro 3d models for their thorough characterization and validation to be translated into clinical practice. Especially, it develops multifunctional nanoparticles for the diagnosis and treatment of diseases (e.g. atherosclerosis, cancer, neurodegenerative diseases, osteo-arthritis, etc). Nanoparticles functionalized with cardiac troponin antibodies are incorporated in electrochemical printable biosensors providing accurate and early detection of myocardial infraction. Also, biodegradable scaffolds for tissue regeneration and drug delivery are developed, to meet the demands for each medical requirement, complex drug delivery nano-systems for sustainable and controllable drug release. The existing portfolio involves one patent on fabrication methods on complex drug delivery nano-systems for sustainable and controllable drug release for biomedical use (PCT/GR2012/0100450).
